LEAD Southeast serves grades 5-9 as of the 2018 school year at our campus in Antioch. LEAD Southeast Middle was founded in 2013; LEAD Southeast High began operating a 9th grade in the 2017-2018 school year and will add a grade each year until it is a fully grown high school by 2021.
LEAD Southeast was founded in order to provide families in the fast-growing Antioch region of the city a high-quality, college-preparatory middle school and high school option for children. Since that time, LSE Middle has been a two-time Reward School for Progress/Growth (2017, 2015) and is home to three Reward School teachers: Katelyn Ippensen, Hannah Knox and Samantha Levy recognized in 2018. LEAD Southeast is part of the LEAD Public Schools network, Nashville’s largest charter management organization with a population of more than 2,400 students.
The school demographics are as follows for LSE Middle: 525 students (as of Spring 2018); 22% Black; 42% Hispanic/Latino; 32% White; 4% Asian. The Exceptional Education population is 9%; the English Language Learner population is 32%.The school demographics are as follows for LSE High: 87 students (the first-ever freshmen class as of Spring 2018); 22% Black; 42% Hispanic/Latino; 32% White; 4% Asian. The Exceptional Education population is 8%; the English Language Learner population is 24%.
